Tribe Treks 1.2.1

Tribetreks is a project developed by Wellcircle Community Interest Company, a not for profit social enterprise based in Durham, UK.

Our aim is to encourage families to get together, get active and get healthy via our app and associated events and activities.

The Problem:

Did you know that 30% of 11 year olds are overweight or obese in the UK - this is a higher percentage than in the USA!.

The UK government has described the rising rates of childhood obesity as a "national emergency".

Over 30% of the UK population as a whole are considered 'inactive', and 1 in 6 UK deaths can be attributed to inactivity.

Shockingly, obesity related hospital admissions have doubled in the UK in the last 5 years.

We want to promote activity and encourage families to spend more time together getting active. In recent studies 50% of parents said they felt guilty about missing out on quality time with their kids.
