Field Guide to Tasmanian Fauna 2.0

Explore Tasmania’s unique and diverse wildlife at home or in the great outdoors with the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery’s Field Guide app. This app combines detailed animal descriptions with stunning imagery and, for some species, sounds to provide a valuable reference that can be used in urban, bush and coastal environments. The app holds descriptions of over 800 species, from animals found in rockpools and minibeasts in your garden, to birds, mammals, lizards and snakes that you might see in the bush. We’ve put in a lot of species, but it’s still a fraction of the complete fauna of Tasmania. Our scientists will continue to add additional species and refine descriptions over time.

This app is one of a suite of field guides for each state and territory, developed by Australia’s leading natural history museums.
