Reviewing the lumbar spine on abdominal CT is essential and can provide crucial information for diagnosis. The goal of this application is to provide a pattern based approach to the evaluation of a variety of non traumatic spinal pathology that can be encountered on an abdominal CT. The tutorial section reviews this pattern based approach in a step wise fashion, utilizing illustrations and CT images. There is also an interactive quiz component to the application, in which unknown cases with a wide range of lumbar spine pathology will be presented. Characteristic imaging findings and differential diagnoses will be highlighted, to help determine the underlying disease processes.
