The translation is nicely done by shri Ram Baba Vernekar who was from a renouned Aginihotri family. He was very wise and learned and his knowledge of Sanskrit was beyond normal man's capacity.

Shri Devi Mahatmya is in sixteen Adhayays. Adhaya 1 to 13 are the Goddess Durga's charitra of her three main avataras viz Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswati, followed by Pradhanik Rahasya, Vaikrutik Rahasya and Moorthi Rahasya.
