What: The 133rd MLA Annual Convention
When: 4–7 January 2018
Where: New York Hilton Midtown and the Sheraton New York Times Square
Welcome to the Program for the 2018 MLA Annual Convention in New York City! Featuring more than eight hundred sessions on language, literature, and culture and drawing nearly seven thousand attendees, the MLA convention is the largest scholarly meeting in the humanities.
Browse the Program by day, subject, or session type, or search for topics of interest. You can also search by participant and get tips on navigating the Program. This year, more than three hundred sessions are devoted to the presidential theme, #States of Insecurity, and we’re offering more professional development workshops and sessions than ever before.
Of course the MLA convention is more than just sessions. Make the most of your experience by connecting with your colleagues in the members’ lounge or at social events, visit the exhibit hall for the latest offerings and a free headshot, sign up for a cultural excursion, and find some time to enjoy all that New York City has to offer!
