The book was written and disclosed in early Victorian era GB, a quantity once there was sturdy longing for recent Christmas traditions together with the introduction of recent customs, like Christmas trees and salutation cards. Dickens' sources for the story appear to be many and varied, but are, within the main, the mortifying experiences of his childhood, his sympathy for the poor, and varied Christmas stories and fairy tales.
