The (First) Apocalypse of James 1.0

The word of the Lord be praised, do not follow the way of the Gentiles follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ Christians are circumcised from the heart follow the word of the mighty Lord far from the Gentiles far from sin and leading a family life.The First Apocalypse of James is regarded as part of the New Testament apocrypha. It was first discovered amongst 52 other Gnostic Christian texts spread over 13 codices by an Arab peasant, Mohammad Ali al-Samman, in the Egyptian town of Nag Hammadi late in December 1945.[citation needed] Another copy has more recently been found in the Codex Tchacos,[2][3] where it is merely titled 'James'. Those texts were in the Coptic language. In 2017, the first Greek copy was found (the work was originally written in Greek)[4] amongst unpublished Oxyrhynchus Papyri housed at Oxford University.[5]
