The GDM Robot Film was first released in Japan on April 7, 1979 to January 26, 1980, this anime series has 43 episodes. Then remake (remade) to be shown in the theater and eventually divided into three films in 1981.

The designers of this series are:
- Yoshikazu Yasuhiko (Gundam Serial Character Designer)
- Kunio Okawara (The mecha designer),
Including the main robot that became a legend, the RX-78-2 GDM.

The first series that aired on Japanese television and made the GDM Robot famous was the Mobile Suit GDM.
The story raised in the GDM Robot series is different in each episode. GDM robot is an army of robots used to defend the world from the attack of Zeon troops who want to rule the earth.
