The Philokalia (Trial Version) 2.22

The Philokalia is the "love of the beautiful, the good". It is a collection of texts from the 4th to the 15th centuries by monks of the Orthodox Church following. Many were written for the guidance and instruction of monks for the practice of the contemplative life. The collection was compiled in the eighteenth century by St. Nicodemus the Hagiorite and by Macarius of Corinth.
