Scriptures in the Amanuban [aoz] language, Timor Island, Indonesia. Amanuban is one of several languages in the Meto cluster (also known as ‘Uab Meto’ and sometimes ‘Dawan’). Linguistically, even though there are clear similarities in the varieties of Meto, the differences in phonology, morpho-syntax and vocabulary are significant enough to interfere with communication among the different varieties of Meto. Amanuban is spoken by around 250,000 speakers in the TTS regency (kabupaten). in 14 districts (kecamatan).
