Prepaid TWINT & other banks

Switzerland’s biggest banks offer their own version of the TWINT app.

Prior to downloading this app, please search in the Google Play Store for the name of your bank together with the term “TWINT”. You can find an overview at www.twint.ch.

‘Prepaid TWINT & other banks’ is the mobile payment solution for everybody whose principal bank does not offer its own TWINT app. You can conveniently link your account with more than 30 cantonal and regional banks to the Prepaid TWINT app. Alternatively, you can save any other bank account via direct debit (LSV). You can also top up your credit using a deposit slip or via credit codes.

If you would like to use TWINT with your credit card, you can also use UBS TWINT. It does not matter whether you are a UBS client or not.

In order to make payments using ‘Prepaid TWINT & other banks’, you need to top up your credit in advance:
• via a bank account
• via a deposit slip
• via a credit code (credit codes are available at Coop and all post offices)

What you can do with TWINT:
TWINT is Switzerland’s digital wallet. Send money to your friends and receive money from them. Make payments in a convenient and secure manner with your smartphone, in online shops and apps, at cash registers and at vending machines. You can also save your customer loyalty cards and take advantage of discount coupons and digital stamp cards.

Send and receive money:
Using the “Send money” function, you can transfer money to your friends in real time or request money from them – very simply from mobile to mobile.

Digital payments with your smartphone:
In online shops, at terminals and unattended points of sale via QR code:
• Open app
• Select the QR code symbol
• Point your smartphone camera at the QR code
• Confirm amount

At cash registers with a Beacon:
• Activate Bluetooth and open app
• Briefly hold your smartphone up to the Beacon or select “Pay now”
• Confirm amount


Make mobile payments at vending machines:
• Open app
• Follow the instructions on the vending machine

Save customer loyalty cards and employee cards:
More than a mobile payment solution. Save your cards in your digital wallet – the Coop Supercard, for example. The respective benefits will then be automatically taken into account with each mobile payment you make.

Digital discount coupons and stamp cards:
Digital discount coupons and stamp cards are displayed to you in the app. When making mobile payments, you automatically take advantage of the exclusive benefits that you have selected.

Secure digital payments:
Switzerland’s biggest banks and SIX are involved in TWINT. The app is as secure as e-banking: Your credit is not saved directly on your mobile and all data remains at a secure location in Switzerland.
If your mobile has been stolen, you can have your prepaid account blocked at any time by calling 0800 99 88 77.

Devices and version:
The app functions on the Android from version 5 operating systems.
