The Santo Domingo Country Club was born from the desire of a group of friends to practice the sport of Golf. Most of these friends were of American nationality, who were in the country, working in the different American companies that at that time existed in the country. That desire turned to enthusiasm and then into action, culminated in the incorporation, on August 12, 1920, of the Santo Domingo Country Club. It is worth mentioning that the Santo Domingo Country Club was the first institution organized in accordance with Ordinance 520 of 1920 that created non-profit institutions. Since then, the Santo Domingo Country Club has witnessed the history of the city of Santo Domingo.
